Alt+J is a purpose-built partner.

Every investment begins with the same question: what is the distance between where this business is today and the full potential it is capable of reaching? We spend our days helping builders cross that chasm.

The companies we invest in sustain their communities. They employ neighbors, serve families, and when those things are damaged in the pursuit of a return, the math gets reported as a win and the world gets a little worse. We do not believe in that math.

So we built a different model.

We are a multi-family office, not a fund. We answer to one thing: the mission. That alignment is structural, not aspirational.

We measure the businesses we leave behind through the leaders who got stronger, the teams that found their footing, the cultures that held under pressure, the communities that are stronger because those companies are stronger. That is the math we believe in.

The Name

On any Mac keyboard, the keystroke produces Δ — the universal symbol for change in mathematics, physics, engineering, and finance. Built into every device on earth. Discovered, not designed.

Δ is the distance between two states. Where something is today, and the potential it is capable of reaching. That is the question behind every investment we make. The name followed from the idea, not the other way around.
